Old English for (on account of) is the
source of one sense of FOR.
ב עבור B[A]BHOOR
means "for," "for the sake of" or "in order that"
FOR is placed at
the prolific and badly jumbled Indo-European root per (base of prepositions and
preverbs). Latin per (through, for, by) connects to the BH-R Hebrew
etymon above, giving us the Hebrew source of PER, PER-, PARAMOUNT, PARAMOUR,
PRO, and PRO-.
(beyond) is from [O]BHaR (passed over see OVER), most of the
listed prefixes at lE per mean "around" and "near." They
derive from Hebrew terms like [A]yBHeR (side), [E]ReBH (on the eve of)
and QaRoa[V] (near). Near in Swahili is karibu.
Farsi (IE) takes a S-B, faal, The related English terms include BEFORE, FIRST,
FORE, FORE-, FOREMOST, FORMER, FRO, FROM, FORWARD, PARADISE (see below), PRE-,
PRIOR, PRO-, PROTEIN, PROTOEROZOIC, PROTO-, PROTON, and PROW.
APPROXIMATE, and PROXIMITY are from Latin prope (near) and perhaps
(near -- I Kings 21:2). A QaROABH is someone near, or a close relative (Ruth
2:20). A close or intimate person isban akrab in Malay.
for "because" in most Indo-European languages have the various permutations of
Bhet-Resh/ BH-R seen above. In Danish and Norwegian "because" is fordi,
in Czech protoze, in German weil and in Yiddish veil. The
Italic languages add KeeY (because) to form parceque (French), porque
(Spanish, Portuguese) and Italian perche . $eeBaH (reason, motive) may
form the "because" terms in Indonesian (sebab) and Swahili
(kwa sababu). Russian (patamushto) sounds more like prefix Bet
(with), a B shifted to P, plus DT[A]ahM (reason).
(Old Iranian) word PARADISE (park) joins our PR and PARA- words from the
all-purpose preposition Ayin-Bhet-Resh + DS, from DeSHEh (vegetation Genesis
1:11 see SOD). A secondary etymology favoring the PRD of PARADISE is found
at FRUIT. Treatment of the so-called Indo-European etymon is at SOD.
Spanish words for FOR are para and por. Por
favor, please, uses the Ayin-Bhet-Vav-Resh pronoun twice. English FAVOR
and FAVORITE belong here, not under the absurd theoretical Indo-European root ghow-e
(to honor, revere, worship) making FAVOR a cognate of gawk. B[A](V)OOR means
forr the sake of (Genesis 8:21). Spanish has a similar favor ( favor, behalf) and por favor (please) that
uses our Bhet-Resh twice.
(extinct language of Asia Minor) for is hrppi. Ayin can provide an H
(see RAVEN), the P is a S-B, and this word may be an M!32 of Ayin-Bhet-Resh.
