Roots

From the legendary Greek hero with one vulnerable point, his heel. עקב [A]Qe(V) is a heel; יעקב YaQoV (JACOB) is the earlier heel-hero. From the same Ayin-Kooph root is עקול [E]eQOOL (crooked – Habakuk 1:4).

Branches

The Igbo (Nigeria) heel, ikili,  may hold the secret of Achilles being named for that vulnerable ankle area that catches up to many athletes and warriors.   See nasalizations of this root like ANGLE, at ANKLE and ENGLISH.  HEEL is also treated at ANKLE.
