Roots

Greek biblia (collection of writing) was done on biblos (papyrus bark) from the same Egyptian source of the word PAPER.

The Egyptian reed, whose bark gives us PAPYRUS, is from a bilabial (lip letter) shift from     אבוב ABOOBH (pipe, tube, knotgrass).   In the BIBLE this reed is found in Job 9:26   אבה   ABHeH (reed).  The vowel-B word got doubled, reduplicated, to give us many familiar BB and PP tube words. ביב     BeeYBH (pipe, the BOOB TUBE before TV) is not a BIBLICAL term, but it's easy to follow the linguistic PIPELINE from a  1) hollow reed or pipe grass to 2) paper from that grass to 3) books or BIBLES from that paper.    אבובא   ABOOBHAh is a reed in Aramaic.
