The CYPRESS tree is attributed to Greek KYPARISSOS, while the similar   גפר GoPHeR gopher tree or pitch pine - Genesis6:14) is from Biblical Hebrew.

  ברוש   B'ROASH is rendered "Cypress" in Isaiah55:13.    כברוש K’BROaSH, resembling theGreek above, would literally mean "like a pine or fir tree" –   see BRUSH,

The  KoPHeR ("henna" or "CA(M)PHIRE" in Canticles1:14) is rendered Cyprus (Latin) in the Concordance.

Returning to Genesis6:14, Noah was instructed to use the wood of the GHoPHeR or K-P(H)-R, and to line the ark with KoPHeR (pitch) for waterproofing or denying moisture.  KiPHeeYRaH means denial.
