The ELK or large deer was spelled elh and eolh in Anglo-Saxon.the alleged Indo-European “root” is el (red, brown ...forming animal and tree names).

איל   AhYiL is a stag or hart (lsaiah35:61);   אילה AYaLaH is a doe, gazelle or hind (Genesis49:21).


Branches

The ELAND is an official cognate. Reverse to lu for a Chinese deer.

The Quechua (Inca)  איל ה AYaLaH is the luychu deer, an M213 metathesis.
