[TS-R → ST-R]

storehouse, treasury

STORE is said to derive from Old French estorer (to erect, furnish, equip) and Latin instauare (to repair, restore, equip). The AHD falls back on their favorite Indo-European “root”, sta (to stand).

OWTSAR is a storehouse or treasury (Deuteronomy 21:12).  OTSaR is to store;  AhTSeeYRaH is STORING or hoarding. [A]TSOOR means closed up.  Scramble Aleph-Tsadi-Resh to fnd more STORED up TREASURE. “OWTSTRaH [A]hL OWTSaROAT” in Nehemia 13:13 is translated, “I made TREASURERS over the TRESURIES.”

Shifting the liquid to L,  there are Tsadi-Lamed words of putting things aside in the STEAL entry.  English words like TREASURER (TRS)  look like a metaathesis of TSR words, like the Spanish treasurer, tesorero.  But STORE is a matter of English consistently rendering the Tsadi (TS) as ST. THESAUR US is from Greek thesauros (treasure). TREASURE is TSR → TRS letter swap of the Greek and Hebrew terms above.     A   French TREASURE is tresor.

An anatomical storehouse might be the UTERUS; Greek hustera (womb) gives us HYSTERIC and HYSTERO- words. For an alternative Hebrew etymon, see STYLE.  The animal hiding treasure inside an Aleph-Tsadi-Resh store is therefore an OYSTER – see OYSTER.
