Roots

Latin cornu means horn, as does קרן QeReN ("horn"- Deuteronomy33:17). The Indo-European “root” ker means horn and head, as Greek kranion (skull) extends the sense of this term to various HORNY or hard aspects of the head or CRANIUM. קר Koof-Resh hardness is taken up at CLOT.

Branches

Cognates include: ACORN, CAPRICORN, CARAT, CARROT (for the RT part, see ROOT), CEREBELLUM, CEREBRAL, CERVIX (see CERVIX), CORN, CREST, GORE, HARD, HART, HORN, HORNET, KARYO-, KERNEL, KERATIN, KERATO-, MIGRAINE, REINDEER, RHINOCEROS, RINDERPEST, RUNT, and TRICCTATOPS.

QaRNAh is a musical horn in Daniel3:5.

Other Hebrew KR terms that relate include QaRahM (to form a crust), QaROOSH (congealed), GaRahM (bone) and GooLGoaLeT (skull).

KAROO (dry tableland) is from a Hottentot word for hard - Karusa.

Malay kras means hard, and uruka is head in related dialects. Kiwi means "horn of an animal" in Hawaiian. Kurr-an is "hard" in Australian Aborigine. The Amazon Indian term kran (head) is anything but an amazing coincidence. QaRQePHeT (head, skull) is an Aramaic combination of QaR (which should mean HORNY or HARD) plus  KePHeT (head – see   CAPITAL).      Polish rog- (horned, horny) <  ← S-G   קרן QeReN, horn

The IE “root” kar (hard) gives us CANCER, CANKER, CARCINOGEN, CAREEN, CHANCRE, CARINA, CARYOTE, (DEMO)CRACY, GILLYFLOWER, HARD(Y), STANDARD and SYNKARON. Softening a bit to Indo-European “root” kal (hard), we get CALLOSE, CALLOUS, CALLUS and EXCALIBUR. (S)CORN, from Old French escorner (to disgrace), is supposed to literally mean "to unborn" The alternative to Koof-Resh-Noon for this etymology might be  K[H]aROAN (anger).
