Roots

A YEN, a deep longing or desire, comes from the Chinese term for opium smoke. Smoke is yen and cloud is yun in Chinese X802.

One may link yun to   ענן [A]hN or   ענן GHaNahN ("cloud" - Genesis9:14) just as other Chinese Y from Hebrew  ע Ayin changes are seen at EYE and ORIGIN.

Branches

The Hebrew ע   Ayin is gutturalized in the Japanese Kumo (cloud) and French nuage (cloud – reversed ען   Ayin-Noon KH-N or GN). The English word NUANCE is supposed to be from the Latin cloud, nubesNUANCE does have the double Ns and a guttural from   ענן GhaNahN (cloud).
