Roots

The first half of the word is from Latin sui (of oneself). The Indo-European “root” s(w)e is a pronoun of the third person, a refective which refers back to the subject of the sentence.

This is precisely the   3rd perdon possessive suffix   תו      –SOA  or -SoW - as seen in   דמתוא   ADMaSoW [his  ADaMaH or land - Deuteronomy32:43].  The second half of the term is from Latin caedre (to cut down, strike mortally, kill). Connected to the many words seen at CUT,     קטיע QiDTeeY[A]h (amputation),  קטב  QoDTaBH (to annihilate) and    קטל   QaDTaL (to kill - Job24:14) are the most deadly of the Hebrew cutting words.

Branches

Cognates under IE “root” s(w)e include: DESOLATE, ETHNIC, ETHOS, GOSSIP, IDIOM, IDIOT, PER SE, SECEDE, SECLUDE, SECRET, SECURE, SEGREGATE, SELECT, SELF, SEPARATE, SIBLING, SOBER, SOLE, SOLILOQUY, SOLIPSISM, SOLITARY, SULLUN, SWAIN and SWAMI. See "AUTO".

Other -CIDE terms include DEICIDE, HOMICIDE and REGICIDE. The deadly CUTLASS might be more directly related to Koof-Tet-Lamed than to Latin culter (knife).
